The first of October the legal year opened in London. I had the privilege to attend. For me, the opening of the legal year made a strong impact showing the importance of gathering among lawyers from different parts of the world and from different parts of the law society. Judges, barristers, prosecutors, bar-leaders, lawyers and solicitors had the possibility to meet and discuss important issues and challenges. One of the topics was countering threats to the legal profession worldwide. Lawyers are being attacked and threatened from state and non-state actors in many parts of the world.
